Set up in 2001, the .NAME universal domain extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other labels people are famous by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level domain names remained operational.

You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular prerequisites on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
