If you want to transfer a domain from one domain name registrar to another, you will have to go through a couple of safety procedures. One of them is getting a unique EPP authorization code from the current registrar – on the condition that you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email account and nobody else can get it. You will have to give this code to the new registrar company, or else they will not be able to begin the transfer procedure. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy/paste the right code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain name may be changed regularly. Certain registrars call this code a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Web Hosting

In case you’ve got a web hosting, you’ve registered a domain name with our company and you’d like to transfer it away, you can obtain its EPP authorization code with less than a few clicks of the mouse. When you sign into your Hepsia Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domain names that you have registered with our company displayed alphabetically. To the right of each domain name, you will see a tiny EPP icon for all TLD extensions that need an EPP code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain registrant’s email address immediately. In the very same section you can also see and ultimately change the email, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you decide to transfer any domain that is registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another registrar company, you can obtain its EPP transfer authorization code with a couple of clicks of the mouse from your Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domains are shown in a different Control Panel section. Quick-access buttons will enable you to use different features. To obtain the transfer code, you only need to click on the EPP symbol, which will be next to any domain whose extension supports transfers with an authorization code. Our system will send the code to the domain registrant’s email, which is presently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If you want, you can edit this email address from the exact same section of the Control Panel before requesting the transfer authorization code. The change will propagate instantaneously, so you will not need to wait for the new email address to be updated on WHOIS lookup websites.
